Auto voice channels since 2018

Instant channels.
Infinite character.

  1. Members join one voice channel.
  2. AVC instantly creates a private room for them...
  3. ...then automatically removes it when everyone leaves.

Naming templates customize the channel name/status dynamically based on the creator's name, the game they're playing, party size, number of members, conditionals, etc.

It's basically a programming language.
Don't want to learn it? Ask the assistant to write one for you.

Free for servers under 100 members. 1-year free trial for everyone else. Open source and self-hostable, always.

Open by design

There is no premium tier.

AVC started as an open project. As it grew, we had a choice: lock features behind subscriptions, or charge only for the hosting that costs us money. Eight years later, we'd make the same decision again.

We did.

  1. 2018

    AVC launched

Join a channel, get a room of your own, and it tidies itself away after.

  2. 2020

    The idea spreads

The pattern catches on, Discord themselves implement some of our features.

  3. 2021-2023

    The awkward phase

Over-popularity, rate limits, Discord API changes, burnout, all at once.

  4. 2024

    The long game

Stability first. Features second. The rewrite would be worth waiting for.

  5. Today

    A new life

Rebuilt from the ground up for servers of any size. Every feature, for everyone.

Batteries included.

The naming language, private rooms, vote-kick, channel grouping. Every feature works on every server from the first day. No premium tier, ever.

We don't lock you in.

It's open source, always has been. The exact same code we host is free to run yourself. Paying us is a convenience, never a requirement.

You stay because you want to.

Free under 100 members, a full free year for almost everyone else. After that, our pricing is fair and based on what it actually costs us to serve you.

Every feature. Always.

We're funded by convenience, not captivity.

Names that keep up

The room always* reflects what's actually happening inside.

More than placeholders

Conditionals, random choices, aliases, formatting, plurals, emojis...

Names and statuses

The same templates can drive both the channel name and the status.

Not just temporary rooms

Templates can also work on permanent channels, even stages.

See the name template reference. *Subject to discord's rate limits (use channel status for rapid updates, names have more limited frequency).

one person, in a game

One template, and it adapts on its own: solo it just names the game, a squad gets a headcount, and it drops the game the moment you stop playing.

Let our AI write your template for you

Our template system is basically a programming language.
Use /templateassistant to describe what you want in plain words, and it writes the template for you.

Any language in, same tokens out

Ask in Spanish, get the answer in Spanish. Korean? Also covered. Any language that OpenAI supports. Your labels and words stay exactly as you typed them, only the tokens are added. Which language it picks.

Honest about limits

Ask for something the naming system cannot do and it says so, then offers the closest thing that works. It never invents a token just to look busy.

Works on existing channels

/template can dynamically name existing channels too.
Use the __empty/occupied__ template to adjust the name when idle.

Granular control

Every knob you could want, none you have to touch.

AVC runs itself out of the box: add it, run /setup, done. When you want more, the dials go deep, and they live in friendly panels and short commands instead of a config file.

Members run their own rooms

Each room belongs to whoever made it. They can cap it with /limit, rename it with /name, lock it with /private, or hand it over with /transfer. If the owner vanishes, /claim takes charge, and a majority /kick vote handles troublemakers without pinging a mod.

Admins set the frame

Panels cover the rest: a template per creator channel, your own game aliases, the "no game" label, whether new rooms sit above or below the creator, permission inheritance, channel grouping, and event logging with three detail levels.

Privacy that actually holds

/private locks a room and spawns a join channel beside it. Knocking posts an Approve, Deny, or Block card inside the room's own chat, and Discord keeps the history hidden from anyone who was never let in.

/limit/name/private/transfer/claim/kick/template/templateassistant/alias/group/position/alwaysprivate/inheritpermissions/logging/setup

The command reference covers each one.

Simple, honest pricing

Pay for size, never for features.

One price per server, per year, based on how many members you have. That is the thing our hosting scales with, so that is the thing you pay for. No seats, no add-ons, no premium toggle.

FreeCOMMON

Free forever for servers under 100 members. Not a trial, not a teaser. Every feature included.
